RAGS Composting Technology Event - 2nd November 2005 |

We will be holding the second of our new look events on the 2nd of November, looking at composting technology. This full day event will be in Dundee, hosted by Alistair Lamont of WamCal Ltd. The event will be split into two parts. In the morning, delegates will look at the essential features that make Composting work, the Microbiological Process, Identifying waste suitable for process options, Waste Input supply and Site Considerations. After lunch, there is a site visit to Dundee City Council’s Green Waste Composting Facility (Please note sturdy boots must be worn for the site visit.) WRAP Tender - Closing date: 12/12/2005 Would funding support help you develop a new Composting Facility, Improve an Existing One or assist in manufacturing products using compost? If the answer is yes, read on to find out about WRAP’s (Waste & Resources Action Programme) Organics Capital Support Programme III. This programme can provide funding towards the development of new composting facilities, the improvement of existing ones and/or facilities for the manufacture of added value products using compost such as growing media or topsoil. To be eligible, you must be based in England, Scotland or Northern Ireland and be able to demonstrate that new sources of feedstock are being utilised to increase the production of composted material. WRAP will fund up to 30% of the capital set-up costs, which could include purchasing land or individual pieces of equipment. RAGS Organics Recycling Event - 30th November 2005 |

Following on from our composting technology event in Dundee on the 2nd of November, RAGS will be visiting the Coach House Trust in Glasgow to look at their timber recycling and composting projects. After a visit to the trusts workshops, attendees will participate in an open forum discussion facilitated by organics experts from the private sector. This event is at both those who want to learn more about the role of the community sector in recycling and those who want to find our more about successful composting and timber recycling.
